When building tools for the job hunt, the biggest enemy is friction. Searching for a new role is already exhausting, and the last thing anyone needs is a platform that makes you do more busywork before delivering results.
That’s why I’m excited to announce the relaunch of the platform under our new domain: HuntMode.ca.
While the .ca proudly roots our identity in Canada, make no mistake — this platform is engineered for the global job market. Alongside the new brand, we’ve shipped a massive update focused on getting you to that “aha!” moment faster. We’ve overhauled onboarding and added discovery features that do the heavy lifting for you.

Goodbye, blank canvas: the new onboarding wizard
There is nothing more intimidating than signing up for a new tool and being greeted by an empty dashboard. We’ve killed the blank canvas entirely.
Our new onboarding wizard is designed to deliver immediate, personalized value the second you complete setup:
- Attach your master resume — drop in your existing, foundational CV.
- Define your target — tell the system what kind of roles you’re hunting for.
- Seamless BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) setup — a step-by-step guide to plug in your Gemini or OpenAI API key securely.
The result? By the time you finish the wizard, the platform has analyzed your resume, matched it against your target roles, and populated your dashboard with relevant job matches. No empty screens — just actionable leads.
”Find Similar Roles”: expanding your horizons
Sometimes finding the perfect job isn’t about running the perfect search query — it’s about pulling the right thread.
We’ve added Find Similar Roles directly on the dashboard and applications list. When you find a job you like, tap the sparkles icon and HuntMode hunts down adjacent positions that share the same DNA as the one you selected.
In my own testing over the last few weeks, this has been a game-changer. It consistently surfaces highly relevant roles and companies I wouldn’t have found through traditional keyword searches alone.
